Random Name Picker

Add your names, pick a winner — instantly.

How to Use the Random Name Picker

Type or paste your names — one per line or comma-separated — then hit Pick a Name. The tool draws one name at random from your list. Enable Remove picked names to work through your entire list without repeats, or keep it off to allow the same name to be drawn multiple times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the draw truly random?

Yes. The picker uses your browser's built-in random number generator to select a name — there's no weighting or bias toward any name on the list.

Can I pick every person once without repeats?

Turn on Remove picked names and the tool will remove each winner from the pool as they're drawn. Once everyone has been picked, you'll see a prompt to reset and start over.

How many names can I enter?

There's no hard limit — you can paste in hundreds of names. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so performance stays fast regardless of list size.

Can I upload a list from a file?

Yes. Click Upload .txt or .csv to load a file. Names should be one per line, or comma-separated — both formats work.

What can I use this for?

Classroom raffles, giveaway drawings, picking a volunteer, choosing who presents first, deciding who picks the movie, or any situation where you need a fair random selection from a list of people.

Is this tool free?
